Finally I am using a prompt because well as I logged into wordpress this was prompted to me! In an age of the AI everyone is writing with the help of Claude, GPT or the like and like my brother says my writing talent has been robbed by AI! Well not just mine quite literally but everyone who writes. But then here’s the catch, ask any writer why they write, most likely it is not to be read, while being read is a great after effect, it isn’t the first most intention to write. Most of the writers are not minimalists or maximalists, they are most likely expressionists! Well pun, intended.
Now for the prompt, I was never an avid traveller, all my childhood I felt travel was a chore and not once during my pre-teenage years too I thought that there was any wonder in travel, however I read a lot. And my love for travel, literally started from a book, the book is called the Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald. Jay and his undeterred love for Daisy made me fall in love with both of them, that is Jay and New York. Fitzgerald described the gilded age of Manhattan replete with its Art Deco streets and architecture, I fell in love with Art Deco too, with its gold, glitter and impossible proportions. Just when the novel came out the Chrysler building was also being built. And that impression of the city quite never left me, the city featured in many movies, popular literature and will every new read or watch it seemed more beautiful than ever. At 13, which life mysteriously brought me into the city yet again and into it’s fold I saw much more of it from every street and popular literature. There is so much hope in the city, and it pulsates with vigour just like the Great Gatsby.
